Chelsea appear to be on the verge of completing a massive transfer in the near future

The player in question is RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku, who is worth €80 million according to transfermarket.com.

The 25-year-old is a natural attacking midfielder. He did, however, play in a variety of positions this season, including up front in a two.

However, his most productive role has been as an attacking midfielder in a front three.

Last season, Nkunku played in 46 games across all competitions, scoring 30 goals and providing 20 assists. And he’s continued to shine in 2022/23, with 17 goals and four assists in 23 games.

Such impressive output was expected to earn Nkunku, who is under contract until 2024, a massive transfer fee.

Over the course of last season, the French international was linked with a number of Premier League clubs, with Chelsea being the most heavily linked.

Chelsea have received a boost as RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl has suggested that a transfer for Christopher Nkunku is in the works after confirming interest in the France international.

Chelsea are said to be close to signing the 25-year-old, and Eberl stated at a press conference on Friday that they risk losing him:

“Of course, there is a lot of interest in Nkunku, and there is a lot of talk, that’s the way it is.” As a result, a threat is looming,” he said.
