Despite signing Raheem Sterling and Kolidou Koulibaly in the same positions, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is still desperate to add a center back and an attacker to his current squad. According to reports, Tuchel is close to signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde on a £55 million rated deal.
After his team failed to take home any significant hardware last season, Tuchel’s top aim has always been to turn them into legitimate title contenders for the following season.
Apparently, this is what Chelsea fans have been pining for, and presumably, Todd Boehly isn’t getting in the way of his goals.
However, according to Express Sport, Timo Werner, a player for Chelsea and Germany, will leave Stamford Bridge this summer as a result of a contentious conversation he had while playing in preseason matches in the United States.
Werner reportedly wants to play after making only 15 starts for the Germany team’s tactician and contributing just one assist and four goals.
The uneasy forward may be searching for an exit after Tuchel advised him to accept the opportunity to play for Chelsea seriously.
Raheem Sterling is predicted to succeed Werner because of the 23 goals and 21 assists he has scored and provided in 89 appearances since his arrival.
