The Blues were in action yesterday against West Ham where they looked forward to bounce back to their winning ways following their mid-week defeat of 2-1 against Southampton.
In yesterday’s match, they looked strong enough to win all the three points by the end of the final whistle. Both team created multiple chances in the first half but none managed to open the scoring.
The match was goalless until In the 63rd minute where Antonio opened the scoring for West Ham after Chelsea defenders made an error in their box.
The Blues pressed high in search of an equalizer. They finally got it after Ben Chilwell scored a fantastic goal in the 76th minute. Kai Havertz added the second one to give the Blues a lead twelve minutes later.
West Ham tried to pull one back in but the Blues defence remained solid. In the 90th minute, they had scored but after the VAR check, the goal was disallowed. Chelsea ended up winning all the three points.
In that match, Ben Chilwell was the player who was impressive where he came off the bench and made an immediat impact which played a major role for the Blues success.
The England fullback is considered as one of the best fullback in the EPL. Last season he spent most time out due to injury. This season, he barely started as Tuchel preferred to start Cucurella.
Yesterday he proved his importance where he came off the bench scored and assisted a goal. Chilwell great passing skills proved he can be of great help to the Blues in the attack in the coming matches.
This now means that Ben Chilwell top perfomance in yesterday’s match proved he can be unstoppable in the coming matches if he’ll be given more playing time.
