Barely three months after taking over the reigns at the Stamford Bridge, American billionaire Todd Boehly seems to be making sensational steps into making the Blues a real force in the English Premier League as well as across Europe.
The 63 year old few weeks’ reign has seen a number of stars complete stunning moves to the West London with world class center-back Kalidou Koulibaly, English star winger Raheem Sterling, Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella and promising defender Wesley Fofana all joining the Blues in the just closed summer transfer window.
What’s more, after realizing a potential challenge in working with German tactician, Thomas Tuchel, the American billionaire didn’t waste a single minute before showing the former Paris Saint-Germain boss the exit door and thereafter moving into hiring one of the most admired managers in Graham Potter.
And now, Boehly is understood to be drawing up a sensational plan to make the Blues catch up with some of the best run clubs in the world among them being Premier League defending Champions, Manchester City and Bundesliga side RB Leipzig who have opted to invest in sister clubs as a way of improvising their academy football.
The Cytizens, as owned by City Football Group has secured a partial ownership of upto 12 clubs across Europe including New York City FC, Melbourne FC and Palermo. On the other hand, RB Leipzig is unofficial partner to Red Bull Salzburg, a move which has seen the Bundesliga club secure some of the best signings from the Austrian giants ahead of rivals.
Hence, Todd Boehly is understood to be also looking into buying a sister club in hope of reinforcing the Blues’ academy.
