England was eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup after losing 2-1 to defending champions France in the quarterfinals on Saturday evening at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid scored the game’s first goal, which Harry Kane equalized in the second half. Former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud scored the game-winning goal in the second half to give Les Bleus the victory.

Here are the three players responsible for England’s defeat to France.

Harry Kane is number one.

The Tottenham striker had pulled England back into the game when they were 1-0 down, but he blew a huge opportunity to get them back into it when they were two goals down when he missed a penalty in the second half.

Harry Maguire, No. 2

The Manchester United defender had a chance to score during the game, but it hit the crossbar. He was also responsible for France’s second goal, as he was unable to prevent Olivier Giroud from getting a good header.

Jordan Henderson 3rd

The Liverpool captain was tasked with covering for Walker at the back in order to stop Kylian Mbappe, but he failed to do his primary job in the game, which was to create enough chances for England’s attackers.
