Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, is giving his pre-match press conference right now, and it’s mostly what we expected.
Reece James injury, Chelsea manager, Graham Potter has confirmed that both Reece James and Ben Chilwell will not play this weekend, as expected, and will instead have the opportunity to train for another couple of weeks before our next game against Fulham. That appears to be very reasonable.
Mykhailo Mudryk is another. Chelsea fans are eager to see him make his debut, but as Potter points out, he “hasn’t played so much football recently,” so he will play “a role,” but not for 90 minutes.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, on the other hand, appears to be ready to go and could fill in at right wing back if Potter opts for a back 5 formation.
Whatever technical skills are lacking, there are new options available, and many more will be available when we play Fulham in two weeks. That can only be positive.
