Chelsea’s Thiago Silva will face Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha now that Raheem Sterling’s hamstring injury is expected to keep him out for longer than expected.
Key Blues players were injured during Chelsea’s Premier League defeat to Manchester City on 5 January, and they have since missed the Carabao Cup defeat to the same team and the league defeat to Fulham.
According to the report, Sterling will be out for much longer than anticipated, with the new target being Borussia Dortmund on February 15th.
And, according to Iomie Stanley, a move for Zaha could now be accelerated. ‘Potter is having a terrible time as Chelsea manager, all these injuries are piling up.
Losing Sterling is a huge blow, but he hasn’t been at his best since moving to London, has he?
There have already been numerous rumors surrounding this transfer window, and it appears that Zaha may finally get that big move.
Zaha is one of the Premier League’s most talented wingers and should be playing for a top six club right now, so with Chelsea desperate to improve their squad, a move for the winger should take place.
Without a doubt, his contract demands of £150k-a-week are not a lot to get Zaha signed, and the fact that his contract is so low means that they can get him for a bargain price.
Palace is aware that offers are on the way, and now that Chelsea has lost another winger, they will almost certainly be expecting an offer from outside of London.”
‘And I would be shocked if nothing happened in the next few days.’
