Chelsea are overworking this summer in reinforcing key areas ahead of premier league return. Few weeks are remaining ahead of transfer deadline day and Thomas Tuchel is seriously focused in rebuilding key areas.
Today remains a key day in Chelsea finalising a major deal after weeks of negotiations. The blue’s reopened talks to sign Sevilla prolific star days after completing Kalidou Koulibaly move to Stamford bridge. Barcelona were the frontrunners in the deal to sign the French star but Chelsea have surpassed them after presenting £55 million equally to what Sevilla wanted for Jules Kounde.
According to Fabrizio Romano Barcelona never presented any bid to sign the star player. Chelsea representatives are now awaiting greenlight to finalize the deal. Jules Kounde will then undergo medicals in London ahead of joining team in USA for preseason training. He has agreed to sign a deal till 2027 after agreeing personal terms with Chelsea.
Kounde will partner with Kalidou Koulibaly and Thiago Silva in Chelsea defense next season. He is considered perfect replacement for Antonio rudiger who left on free transfer to Real Madrid.
