Manchester City eliminated from the FA Cup despite dominating the game

Manchester City Women were knocked out of the FA Cup after Aston Villa won in extra time to advance to the semi-finals. After Deyna Castellanos equalized Rachel Corsie’s opener, Rachel Daly scored in the 97th minute to give the home team the victory.
The Blues were defeated 4-3 on the opening day of the season by a Daly-inspired Villa, and they failed to beat the Clarets when the two teams met in January.
Despite their dedication and dominance in the FA Cup game, Man City only managed three shots on goal as Villa inflicted more extra-time misery on the blues.
Manchester City was eliminated out of the League Cup semi-finals by Arsenal in early February and then fell short in another cup match, meaning City’s only chance of silverware is to dethrone Chelsea and United in the league.
