After Argentina won the World Cup, Paul Robinson lavished praise on Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez.
The former Tottenham and England number one told Football Insider exclusively that the 22-year-limited old’s game time at club level demonstrates the Etihad’s “ridiculous” squad depth.
On Sunday, Alvarez helped Argentina win the World Cup (18 December).
The forward contributed significantly to Lionel Scaloni’s team, scoring four goals in five appearances.
This season, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has primarily used Alvarez as an impact substitute in the Premier League.
When asked if Alvarez should be given more game time at club level based on his performances at the World Cup, Robinson responded, “Man City’s squad depth is excellent.”
