"They should have done more to get Mykhailo Mudryk," Jenas said, blaming Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta

Jermaine Jenas, an ex-Spurs player, has told Arsenal that they should have done more to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Mykhailo Mudryk: This comes after the Ukrainian made his Chelsea debut against Liverpool on Saturday.

Arsenal were about to sign world-class winger Mudryk when Chelsea swooped in and hijacked the deal, paying around £99 million.

Mudryk, on the other hand, came off the bench in the 55th minute of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool and showed signs of a future superstar.

He came on for Lewis Hall shortly after halftime and showed signs of promise.

Instead, Arsenal signed Brighton’s Leandro Trossard, but Jenas believes Arsenal should have done more to sign Mykhailo Mudryk rather than Chelsea.

Good news this morning: Noni Madueke wants to join Mudryk in Chelsea

“There is no doubt that Arsenal has what it takes to pay for Mudryk’s transfer,” he said.

Chelsea’s fifth January signing was Mudryk, and their sixth was Noni Madueke.
