Chelsea is said to have agreed to pay Molde €12 million for Ivorian striker David Datro Fofana. The move to Stamford Bridge for the Ivory Coast international is said to have been completed on his 20th birthday, giving him even more reason to celebrate.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there is “complete agreement between all sides” on Fofana’s relocation to England, and medical testing will now take place in west London.
Fofana signed a four-year contract with Molde in February 2021, but after scoring 24 goals in 65 appearances, he is ready for a new challenge with Premier League heavyweights.
Fofana hopes to follow in the footsteps of previous Molde heroes who have moved to England, such as Manchester United great Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and current Manchester City forward Erling Haaland.
