Thiago Silva agreed to a new contract extension with Chelsea until 2024

According to FC Inter News, Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar is on Chelsea’s radar as the Blues look for a long-term replacement for the 38-year-old Thiago Silva.

The Slovak was close to signing an extension with the Nerazzurri but reportedly wants €6.5 million plus bonuses rather than €5.5 million plus bonuses, causing the renewal to be delayed.

Meanwhile, Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has named Thiago Silva as one of the most difficult players he has faced.

Why Thiago Silva underwent ‘doping test’ after great performances against Everton

Of course (he is one of the toughest defenders I have faced),” Martinelli replied.

“He is also one of the best defenders in the world.”

“He’s 38, and to see him play now is incredible.”

Last week, Arsenal faced him, and you could see his quality and composure.

“He is a fantastic player who is also a great person off the field.”
