Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea manager, has this to say after 2-1 by Southampton, saying his squad should “toughen up and show a brilliant performances” in their next coming matches.
The Blues coach, made it clear to his side for “soft, soft, soft defending, should stopped” in what was the Blues’ second defeat in their opening five Premier League games this season.
Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling put the visitors ahead but Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong responded as Southampton won 2-1.
Chelsea’s other defeat also came away from home in a 3-0 humbling by Leeds at Elland Road last week.
Tuchel told Match of the Day that;
“It is too easy to put us off balance, to beat us, to confuse us”. “It is too easy.”
It happened against Leeds United. We need to understand why and find solutions to this.
The gaffer also bemoaned Chelsea’s injuries, with defender Reece James missing out with illness. His side was also without N’Golo Kante, while Mateo Kovacic continued his return by coming off the bench in the second half when he replaced the injured Ruben Loftus-Cheek while Conor Gallagher is suspended.
