The matchday 3 of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2022 matches have been officially opened as Nigeria will face Ghana in the CHAN 2022/23 to slug it out for the CHAN match in today’s game.

No doubt, the match between Ghana vs Nigeria will definitely be a tougher match to watch as both teams is fully ready to boost their chances in the CHAN match to the next stage of the match slated for today.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria’s home-based national team has landed in the capital of Ghana, Accra ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) against Ghana.

However, This is the 7th edition of the CHAN, the home-based Super Eagles take on the Black Galaxies of Ghana in a two-leg affair, as the Super Eagles departed Nigeria to arrive in Cape Coast on Friday, for the first leg in Ghana.

Super Eagles home-based coach Salisu Yusuf invited 35 players to camp but only took 22 for the qualifier against Ghana. Nigeria had a huge rivalry with Ghana across all levels of national team football.

The Black Stars of Ghana denied the Super Eagles of Nigeria a sport at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The clash between the home-based teams of Nigeria and Ghana has generated interest for a place at the CHAN.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF )has picked Beninoise officials to take charge of the encounter, with Issa Mouhamed as the referee. Others include, his compatriots Eric Ulrich Ayimavo will be assistant referee 1, with Koudogbo Kougbemede as assistant referee 2 and Tanisla Ahomlanto as the fourth official.

Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will be the match commissioner while Sanusie Rashid, another Sierra Leonean, will be the referee assessor.

The first-leg clash between Ghana vs Nigeria will take place on Sunday, August 28, 2022(today at 5p.m. local time) at the Cape Coast Stadium. While the return leg will hold on Saturday, September 3 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
