World Cup: How Pulisic’s miss cost the US a place in the knockout stage (Opinion)

The United States of America was eliminated from the World Cup after a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands this evening. Meanwhile, Pulisic squandered a golden opportunity in the first half, which was one of the factors in their defeat today.
The US started the game well by controlling play, while the Netherlands sat back and counterattacked. Because it was a one-on-one matchup, Christian Pulisic had a great chance to score in the second minute. However, Noppert saved Chelsea’s feeble shot.
If Pulisic had scored on that opportunity, the game could have ended in favor of the United States. Because scoring the goal would have inspired and given the USA players the courage to finish the game as winners.

Despite the missed opportunity by Pulisic, Daley Blind scored the second goal and Denzel Dumfries assisted Memphis Depay on the first. Haji Wright had pulled the USA within one goal early in the second half before Dumfries scored to seal the 3-1 victory.
